Cultural Tourism has enormous potential for the Tamar Esk region. The region is Tasmania's commercial powerhouse but the dynamics that feed the region's economy is changing. Once the cornerstone enterprises were industrial enterprises but that too is changing.

The region has a heritage assets that until recently have played a subsidiary role in the region's economy. This is changing very quickly and there is a need to look to the Tamar Esk's cultural infrastructure and as a consequence there is a perceived need to build upon them in order that the enterprises, small and large, that depend upon them can prosper and thrive.
